FreeBSD ports issues (from ElectroBSD's point of view)

- "If the uname isn't FreeBSD, it clearly must be DragonFly"
- License situation worse than in base.
  You should not blindly assume that a binary package built
  from free software can be legally distributed on its own.
- Maintainer authority reduced over the years.
  Quality suffers (totally unbiased opinion!).
- Rerolled distfiles complicate source verification
- Unsigned upstream releases don't help
- Security fixes not always noticed in timely fashion
- Flawed optional features that aren't used voluntary are
  declared mandatory instead of fixed. The LICENSE "framework"
  for example:
